About Delicia's Farm
Our beginning...
Delicia’s Farm was specifically established by the owner/operator, Michael Tidon, as an advocacy platform for sustainable agriculture. A retired associate professor of Philosophy, he is now passionately pursuing his sustainable agriculture advocacy.
Its overarching design adheres to the tenets of Permaculture System, a system of agricultural and social design principles centered on simulating or directly utilizing the patterns and features observed in natural ecosystems. The design elements observable in Delicia’s Farm manifest Permaculture philosophy of working with, rather than against nature.
While some visitors come to us to enjoy the site, some come to us because of what we do. We are following the country’s Code Of Good Agricultural Practices (GAP) For Fresh Fruits and Vegetable Farming. As a pioneer in practicing sustainable agriculture in the municipality, we strictly implement zero synthetic chemical inputs in our vegetable crops. We are currently farming a combined one hectare of raised beds of various crops. In addition, we have livestock zone for swine, chicken & small ruminant.
At the center of the farm is our sprawling social area and two cabins, the hub around which most of our farm’s activities revolve. The area is a welcome spot to walk around (or sit) when people come to visit and learn from us.
On any given day of the week, if not engaged with his volunteer works with Pandan LGU, one could easily spot the farm owner/operator Michael Tidon hard at work in the garden or the farm plant nursery.
